Who we are

Hi, my name is Jillian and I am the owner of Snake River Adventure Seekers. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and moved to eastern Idaho after graduating from college for job opportunities and to begin a new chapter with my best friend, who also happens to be my husband. What started as a practical move quickly became home. We stayed for the outdoor recreation and the Idaho lifestyle that encourages adventure, resilience, and connection. Now, we are raising our four adventurous, energetic kids here and running Snake River Adventure Seekers as a family — because adventure, to us, is something meant to be shared.

Our family loves to be outside in every season. Winters are for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and ice fishing. In the spring and fall, you’ll find us riding dirt bikes, exploring trails, and rock climbing. Summers are filled with camping, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, hiking, swimming in alpine lakes, and exploring new places — especially national parks. My husband and I have a goal to visit every national park in the contiguous Unites States before our oldest son graduates high school. Skiing is a big part of our family culture — we love discovering new resorts, chasing big lines, and exploring challenging, less-skied terrain on memorable mountains. Our boys are already full of ideas and dreams of one day creating a ski resort of their own.

We love traveling as a family, but we are not into luxury vacations. We prefer to rough it a bit — eating lunch out of a cooler, staying close together in a tent or simple hotel room, and fully experiencing the natural beauty around us. For us, the real value of travel is quality family time and the kind of memories that stay with you long after the trip ends.

Somewhere along this journey, I also found my tribe — an incredible group of women I met through my kids’ activities. These friendships have become a source of strength, encouragement, and inspiration. They’ve motivated me to be brave, given me confidence to do hard things, and reminded me of the power of showing up for one another. That sense of connection, courage, and ripple effect is where the Traveling Courage concept was born. Those friendships — and the adventures we share together — inspired me to create women’s mind-body adventure retreats. I love bringing women together for meaningful adventures paired with mind-body experiences, and I want to share that experience with others by coordinating retreats that remove the logistical burden, connect women with incredible instructors, and take place in Idaho’s stunning Teton Valley.

In 2025, I opened Snake River Adventure Seekers as a way to help other families and individuals bring more adventure, connection, and intention into their lives. I value honesty, genuine people, and a positive mindset. I believe in finding the good in every moment, even the hard ones. Small things matter. Every challenge holds a lesson, and even a bad day can offer something valuable if you are willing to look for it.

That philosophy — combined with a deep love for Idaho, the outdoors, and family — is at the heart of everything Snake River Adventure Seekers does.
