THE TRAVELING COURAGE STORY
Traveling Courage began quietly — long before it had a name.
It started in the everyday moments of life: raising a family, navigating change, pushing through hard seasons, and choosing to keep moving forward even when things felt uncertain or uncomfortable. It grew through friendships, shared experiences, and the realization that courage isn’t loud or dramatic — it’s often found in small, brave choices.
Over the years, I found my people — an incredible group of women I met through my kids’ activities. Strong, honest, supportive women who showed up for each other in real ways. Through them, I learned the power of encouragement, vulnerability, and connection. They reminded me that we don’t have to do hard things alone — and that sometimes, the courage we need comes from someone else believing in us first.
Then one day, a sweet friend surprised me with a simple birthday gift — a mug with a climbing grip handle. She didn’t need to give me anything, but she did. Every time I saw the mug in the cupboard, I thought of my friend. I found myself reaching for that mug on bad days. I found myself taking silly pictures using that mug and sharing them with my friend. That mug became of symbol of support, strength and friendship. A small act of kindness — a simple item — brought me such strength and joy.
That’s the heart behind the Traveling Courage Project — small, meaningful reminders that say, I see you. I’m with you. Keep going.
Traveling Courage is built on the idea that one small act of encouragement can ripple outward. A message on a shirt. A reminder worn close to the heart. A sticker on a favorite mug. A reminder that makes you smile. A gift sent to a friend who needs encouragement. A kind gesture to someone that made a positive impact on you. Courage travels — from one person to another, from one moment to the next — creating ripples that go far beyond what we can see.
This project exists to remind people that courage doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It means showing up anyway. It means choosing growth over comfort, connection over isolation, and progress over perfection. It means trusting that your bravery — no matter how small it feels — matters. Traveling Courage is about moving through life with intention. About sending love forward. About believing that strength can be shared. And about honoring the truth that mind and body, courage and movement, all work best together.
One message. Endless ripples.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose an item with a message that speaks to you.
Send it to a friend, along with a personalized message. (We will include a Traveling Courage card that shares The Traveling Courage Story and the goal of the project)
They wear it (or use it). They are reminded of your kindness and support.
They snap photos (at home, work, adventuring, anywhere).
They share those photos with you and tag the Traveling Courage Project on social media.
If and when it feels right, they choose someone in their life to send the message to next.
